NaNoWriMo Day 3

NaNoWriMo Day 3

I was really tired today. I struggled to write and had a hard time thinking of where to go next. So I only wrote 368 words and decided not to push myself too much today since I wrote so much yesterday. As I mentioned in my Preparing For NaNoWriMo musing, take your breaks. So I am taking a break. I have done more than enough today and tomorrow and I will wake up refreshed and anew and ready to work.

As always, thanks for reading. Until next time  . . .

Here is an excerpt of what I wrote. I may or may not keep this in the finished product but I wanted to share.

“Eight?! Tonight?!” I panicked, pacing in my office as time ticked away.

I had literal minutes before the clock struck five, signaling the end of the work day. Then I had three hours to get ready. I needed a solid twenty-four hours just to pick out an outfit, let alone get ready. How did one even dress to impress a CEO who was also a billionaire?

Suddenly there was a knock on her door and my heart dropped. I almost couldn’t stand up but somehow I managed and made my way to the door, opening it as slowly as possible.

“Yes,” I spoke when face to face with Derrick.

A sweet smile broke across his face and he chuckled. “Oh my sweet Nadia. It’s just a date. If you feel uncomfortable, you are free to decline.”

I looked around, making sure no one was in the office before pulling him into the office and quickly shutting the door.

“It’s not that I don’t want to go on the date, it’s just that I don't know what to wear.”

He laughed. “Nadia, what you have on is fine. It doesn’t have to be this big of an ordeal.”
