My Pamuya
Ayden POV
She walked into the cafeteria and immediately all time stopped. Well, that was an exaggeration but that’s how my heart felt. It had been over 500 years since I’d laid eyes on my Pamuya, I wasn’t about to let her get away.
Before my brain could process my body was lifting from its seat, feet padding across the shiny tiled floor towards my beloved.
She made eye contact with me and instantly she bolted. I hadn’t meant to scare her but I needed to talk to her. If I let her get away, I might not get a chance to see her again.
“Pam–I mean Annalee, wait!”
She seemed to pick up the pace and before I could warn her, crashed right into another kid, sending his lunch tray and all its contents onto the floor. Rushing to her side, I helped her off the floor but she yanked her arm from my grasp.
“Stay away from me!”
For a moment her eyes flickered from their usual deep amber to Pamuya’s cerulean and silver irises. And there was my Pamuya, that blazing fire beyond her mismatched eyes, searing my heart all over again.
She stood to her feet, wiping the food from her school uniform and apologizing to the guy she ran into. Then she turned back to me, closing the space between us, standing an inch from my face. She was so close, if all I had to do was lean forward and our lips would meet. But I refrained from such an impulse. Knowing my Pamuya, she’d likely kill me and everyone in this place.
“Leave me Ayden. I wish not to see you, hear you, or know you exist. Trifle with me again, and it will be your demise.”
And with that, she left.
