The Neighbor

The Neighbor

In this short story teaser, our leading lady is trying to meditate but her neighbor is disturbing her peace. So she decides to go over there and tell him what for. Enjoy.

But now that was all shot to pieces because of the asshole next door.

I headed over to my neighbor’s house and entered through the open garage. I didn’t have far to go since there were a pair of legs poking out from an old Chevy Silverado, tapping to the beat.

I tapped my foot against his, startling him before he rolled out from under the truck. Slowly, this tall, lanky man with scruff all over his jaw and wavy locks on his head stood before me.

To say he was gorgeous was an understatement. He has the sharpest jawline I had ever seen and the warmest hazel eyes. My insides melted.

“Oh I’m sorry to bother you. I just wanted to ask if you could please turn your music down?”

What happened to cussing him out? What happened to kicking ass? What happened to all that righteous anger? My brain screamed at me but my libido told it to shut up.

Aside from not eating and sleeping, I also hadn’t been getting laid. Not that I was doing too much of that before my declining health, but still, it had been a very long minute and my body was missing some action.

“Sorry about that. Didn’t realize it was so loud.” He smiled.

“Uh huh,” was all I could manage before adding, “Well aren’t you going to turn it down?”

For a minute he just stared at me before registering my words and moving to turn down his stereo. Yet just as he was rounding the corner of his car, I noticed a skateboard and before I could warn him, he slipped on the skateboard and landed flat on his ass.

“Oh my god!” I came around the car. “Are you okay?” I peered over him.

“Yeah.” He slowly got up. “Just my idiot brother always leaving this dumb thing around.” He kicked the skateboard out of the way. “Damn.”

“Well it could be worse?”

“How so?”

“You could have busted your face instead of your ass.” I laughed.
