For the second book of Christmas I read for you this year . . . a steamy, fake dating turned true love romance to warm any heart this holiday season. Happy Holidays!

There’s a vacancy for upper management at the dating app company, Lovestruck, and Riley wants it. But word through the grapevine (or the office gossip) the boss promotes ‘sticky people,’ people who have a reason to stick around with the company long term. However, Riley isn’t married, or has kids, or even a mortgage, but she does have an idea. Riley decides to enter into a fake relationship with the office heartthrob, Chase, to secure that promotion. However, real feelings develop between the two and Riley realizes Chase isn’t who she thought he was. He’s actually her perfect match. Now Riley must decide whether to come clean and risk losing her chance at a promotion and possibly true love.

I did like the chemistry between Riley and Chase. One of the biggest things for me as a reader is the spark between love interests. In this novella, Riley and Chase felt like real people just getting to know each other. And the novel focuses more on that aspect than the fake relationship part.

However, it’s Riley’s obsession with doing the right thing that irks me. Without spoiling too much,

Riley does eventually want to come clean about her fake relationship except she really is in love with Chase. Thus there wasn’t a need for her to be so vigilant about telling the truth. The constant back and forth of are they together, are they not, does she love him, maybe, she doesn’t know, almost made me want to put the book down.

Also, the pacing was too fast. The reader isn’t just jerked around in this fake relationship but the timeline of the story. I couldn’t tell how far the relationship had progressed, whether it had been a month or months. Everything just flew by too quickly. Both the relationship and the story needed to slow down and allow the reader time to be in the moment.

Mingle All the Way is a steamy, warm holiday romance about discovering one’s true love right under your noise and taking a chance to be with them. A beautiful read worth reading. 3.5 out of 5 stars.
