Wrapped Up In Beau by Mia Heintzelman

Wrapped Up In Beau by Mia Heintzelman

The fourth book of christmas I read this year was filled with holiday woe as a former lover gets Wrapped Up In Beau.

Beau needs to go home to check on his ailing grandmother when he spots the love of his life in the airport. The love of his life that he let get away. What are the odds? Should he try to reach out again and just let it go as a chance meeting? Bree just wants to get the holidays over with when she sees Beau and her focus shifts to the love of her life she walked out on. Does he still love her or should she let the past be the past? Well fate had other plans when there’s a layover and Beau and Bree finally have a chance to talk about what happened all those months ago. One thing leads to another and somehow they’re thrust into each other’s lives again. Can they repair what’s broken or will they forever be apart?

I liked the chemistry between these two. The reader could really feel the love and the angst, but it wasn’t sappy or over dramatic. These two felt like real people that would actually end up in an airport. Reading this was like being a fly on the wall just listening to two people reconnect.

I truly liked Beau. He was just a man trying to prove his worth to everyone, especially Bree. And I liked that the reader gets to see the reasons behind this drive as the book goes on. Of course it’s not hard to relate to Beau initially, however, as the reader gets to know him, they feel for him even more.

I kind of didn’t like Bree’s behavior. She had valid reasons for leaving Beau but she seemed to flip back and forth to wanting to be with him and not wanting to be with him. Yes, Beau needed to change and grow, but it was clear he loved her and she loved him and I felt they could have made it work sooner, rather than drag out their reunion.

All in all, this was a delightful, heart-warming read that could be read any time of the year, not just Christmas. Wrapped Up In Beau is a lover’s reunion that’s a 4.5 out of 5 stars.
